Hockey Skates Bauer Supreme vs. Bauer Vapor?
I’m looking at buying a new pair of hockey skates, most preferably from Bauer. My main question is what are the main differences between the Vapor and the Supreme line? I have a narrowish (borderline between narrow and normal) foot. My skates right now are Nike Bauer Vapor XVI (16). I’ve been looking at the New Vapor X40, the old 08′ Nike Bauer Supreme One195 and the New Bauer One180. I think the old One195 look quiet good. Please list your opinions and thoughts. Thanks and, and gain please help.
P.s. Ive been told that Nike and Bauer have split up. Does this mean that Bauer will now allow shipping overseas? I am asking this because I live in Australia and hockey skates are very expensive (X60 cost $1000). I hope they allow it now because I want to buy them of Hockeymonkey.
Thank you again.
The primary difference between the Vapor and Supreme lines is the fit. For a narrower foot, generally speaking, the Vapor line is a better choice. Specifically regarding the X:40 I feel it is dollar for dollar the best skate available. If you can score a deal on the ONE95 grab them but they are in short supply. I just sat in a meeting regarding the new Supreme line (TotalONE, ONE100, etc) and they will fit consistent with the old ONE95. That fit is typically fuller in the forefoot and wicked snug in the heel and ankle region (zero negative space) which they call Anaform fit. ONE80 won’t be available for a few more weeks at least
Nike Bauer Hockey no longer exists and we are simply back to Bauer Hockey. Nike took a huge loss buying then selling Bauer as they frankly had no idea how to market Ice Hockey. That said I have no idea if their shipping policies will change. Sorry
